Hakemzadeh is a public employee for the Ministry of Culture at their regional offices in the northern county of Rasht. His job is to travel to isolated villages in the territory and screen 16mm films for the inhabitants who would otherwise never see a movie in their life. One day, Hakemzadeh decides to bring his young on with him on his next tour and sets off for his latest journey with the young boy. Father and son leave for the open roads that lead into the wide, green forests of northern Iran. When they finally reach the inner depths of the forests, the first village on their tour warmly welcomes them. Hakemzadeh unpacks his equipment and sets up his projector during the day. While he waits for nightfall, he takes a long walk and admires the deep quiet of the forest. Meanwhile, a beautiful young woman from the village is praying that she will marry the young local man she is in love with, though her parents have already met with a much older gentleman caller who has come to ask them for her hand. Night finally arrives. All the villagers gather in the open quad of their village where the father has set up his mobile outdoor-movie theater. One of the elders of the village is unable to walk and is forced to sit alone in his tent. His young grand-daughter promises to relate the film to him instead. Meanwhile, the father sits at top of his truck where his projector is mounted and rolls the film in the open night air. His son sits patiently and thoughtfully in the front seat below. The movie keeps all of the novice spectators in awe but gradually the children in the front begin to laugh at the film, and the father impatiently repremands them from the top of the truck. Meanwhile, the little girl, stands just outside her grandfather's tent and gives him animated updates of the film. Suddenly, lightning is heard and it begins to rain. The father decides to end the film but the excited spectators won't let him pack up and force him to transfer his projecting system to the front seat of the truck, where the father continues to watch the film with his son in silence. As the rain becomes heavier, the adults and children bring the blanket covers on the ground over their heads and continue to watch in the downpour. After the movie, the vilagers return to their homes. As the father begins to pack up his equipment alone, the little girl, who now calls him uncle, tells him her grandfather has invited him and his son for dinner in their family tent. The next day, while the father finishes packing, a marriage ceremony begins and the young woman who had prayed the village ask Hakenzadeh where he is going and when he will come back. They are quietly upset that he and his son are leaving, and the father has promise them that he will soon return. His truck drives into the forest road again and disappears behind the giant trees.A film by Farhad Mehranfar. Produced by Hashem Reza Sarhangee.
