Feisty at 80 despite a recent stroke, Harry is faced with the prospect of being sent to a retirement home by his family. However, he convinces his son and grandson to take him on a week-long roadtrip on a search for diamonds, supposedly stashed long ago.

Harry leads his family on a sometimes comic adventure across Nevada and throughout his past. The trio encounter a variety of characters including pit bosses, gansters, bums and an intriguing madam named Sin-Dee. A long the way, the three generations of men make some interesting discoveries, learning more than they expected about each other.
